Computer and Electronics Recycling

Why recycle electronics? As consumer electronics technology rapidly improves and prices get lower, it is estimated that billions of consumer electronics will be scrapped. Through reuse and recycling programs, these materials can be refurbished for reuse or demanufactured for recycling. By not putting your electronics in the trash, natural resources and energy are conserved, valuable and potentially harmful materials are recovered and landfill space is saved.

SWANCC-area residents have many options to recycle computer and electronic items.

For resources on clearing data before recycling, view the EPA's "Do the PC Thing: Donate Computers" information.

Every year about 40 million computers or televisions are discarded in this country alone.
