Asphalt Shingle Recycling

The Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) accepts Asphalt Shingles for recycling. Shingles must be from residential projects. Commercial shingles will be turned away. Acceptable materials include asphalt shingles, felt attached to shingles, nails mixed in with shingles and shingles containing fiberglass.

Several potential markets exist for asphalt shingles including:

• hot mix asphalt
• cold patch
• dust control on rural roads
• temporary roads or driveways
• aggregate road base
• new shingles
• fuel

Major credit cards are accepted for payment.

No Hazardous Waste will be accepted.

Asphalt Shingles: $45 per ton

The Glenview Transfer Station is located on the east side of Des Plaines River Road, just north of Central Road, directly across the street from the Maryville Academy.
