Presentations and Workshops

Invite SWANCC staff to give a presentation about solid waste technologies, waste reduction tips and what individuals are doing to be more “green” to groups of 25 or more. Information will be adjusted for age-appropriateness.

Additionally, SWANCC’s Recycling and Education Director, Mary Allen, an Approved Provider for the Illinois State Board of Education, is available to conduct “in-services” for faculty.

SWANCC offers an early childhood educational program called Taking Care of Our Earth, designed for children three to five. Concepts include the environmental R’s, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, as well as respect for our environment. Many visual aids are used to convey each concept and teachers will receive resource material and activities for follow-up lessons.  There is no cost for this program to pre-schools located in a SWANCC-member community.

Each fall, SWANCC hosts a workshop for environmental representatives and student-based club sponsors, as well as hands-on workshops for teachers throughout the year. Join the Elist for Educators to be notified.
